Any suggestions? It was working fine a couples days ago. I double checked my preferences in Safari and every option is as this website recommended.

Flash Player works but not recognized as latest by pogo.com

I am running IE9 on a Win7 64 bit computer with Flash 11.7.700.224.  I can use flash on the adobe test page, and on most of the pogo games that use flash.  But when I try to play two specific flash games the website requests I update my flash player.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash, both by using Control panel and by using the tool on the Adobe website (and rebooting after removal and manually removing files as described on several forums I found on the web).  It's still a no go.  I would try pogo help but they are notoriously unhelpful and often the reps are difficult to understand due to outsourcing.  I suspect it's some residual file from an older version cluttering up the detection process but am not knowledgeable enough about Flash to find and remove it.  Any help you could provide in either A) completely removing older versions of Flash or B) properly installing Flash so it is detected correctly or C) something I haven't thought of that would help would be helpful.  Oh, it should be noted that I can use chrome to play the games, but I prefer IE and would like to have my system working properly in any case.

Thanks,

New information re high CPU and playback quality

Hello,

I have read many threads about the issue of high CPU usage and poor playback in Flash. I recently began experiencing this problem after changing my ISP and have not read about what I have experienced in the past two weeks, so I’m contributing my experience in hope that it will help with a solution.

For several years I had been using Verizon as my ISP, getting 3 meg DSL service. Video quality in Flash on services like HBO GO had been excellent. CPU usage of Flash running in IE ranged from 15-30% playing to a 40 inch LED HDTV.

Increased bandwidth usage in my home from multiple new devices was creating various network performance issues so I decided to upgrade my internet service to the only option available in my area, which is Optonline from Cablevision. The speed of service increased from 3 meg to over 18 meg. This resulted in much better performance on my home network.

An unexpected result however has been a big decline in the quality of video streaming in Flash. With my new internet service the CPU usage of Flash runs to almost 100% and playback quality is very poor with constant stuttering and a frame rate dropping to less than 10 fps in HBO GO. I tried several of the suggestions in other posts, like turning off hardware acceleration, reducing CPU affinity, checking for upgraded drivers (none), running in Firefox instead of IE, etc. None of those helped.

The DSL service is still functioning, so I switched the network connection on my Netgear router (which also provides Wi-Fi to my other devices) back to the DSL modem. The playback quality of Flash was again excellent. Switching back to the cable modem results in very poor quality Flash playback and high CPU usage.

What could it be about the higher speed service that is causing the high CPU usage and poor playback quality of Flash? My computer is running Flash Player 11 ActiveX and Flash Player 11 Plugin version 11.7.700.224. I don't know if any of the following matters: also running Shockwave Player 12.0.2.122, graphics card is a GeForce GT 620, Direct X is version 11.

If there's more info I can provide while I still have the DSL service running please let me know.

Perhaps this will help to figure out the Flash problems people are having.

Flash Player crashing with advertisements in Chrome

I have noticed that Flash Player has been crashing more frequently in Chrome with various advertisers.  The yellow bar appears at the top telling me that Flash Player has crashed and there is a button to 'stop' the Player or you can X out.  Either choice, it freezes the page and I cannot continue.  I have to shut down all my tabs since it seems to affect ALL of Chrome.  Should the yellow bar disappear after I click on 'stop' or X out of the box, the advertisement box causing the problem is in black with a skull and crossbones in the center.  I have had other friends tell me the same thing has been happening to them.  I have WIndows XP, another friend has Windows Vista, another Windows 7.  We are all using Chrome.  So what is up here, is it Chrome itself or is it the advertising within Chrome that is not working correctly, OR, is there an issue with Flash Player?  Somewhere there is a programming error.  Frustrating.

I need help, can you help?

Adobe Flash player black bands prior to 11.7.700.202 and again in 11.7.700.224

I was having issues at my campus when I scroll content.  The browser alternately covers the text, pictures, and buttons with black bars a few lines too early as I scroll.  The bars are random as to doing this, as sometimes it is black bars followed by a normal row and then more black bars.  They run across the frame (one line at a time). Sometimes it fills the whole frame.  I fix the problem by scrolling the content off the screen, and repeat the cycle as needed when the random bars hide content from the top down--a few rows too early--as if to represent them scrolling off the screen.

Version 11.7.700.202 fixed this.  The problem must have started in the version just before 11.7.700.202.

However, A few weeks later I let the 11.7.700.224 update install, and it created the problem all over again.

I admit I did not attempt clearing the cache when this started happening.  However, it had only been about a day, with limited usage, so this is unlikely the cause unless the cache remains the same between updates.

I uninstalled Adobe Flash player 11.7.700.224, rebooted, and then removed the latest version info from the registry (since it complained about using an older version, and forced me to exit).  However, this did not work, so I ran the uninstall that came with 11.7.700.202.

I then installed the appropriate 11.7.700.202 installation executable and 11.7.700.202 ax (or activex) installation from the developer archives, and now the problem is fixed again.

There were issues with some video content with 11.7.700.224 as well, but going back to 11.7.700.202 fixed this too.

Adobe Flash Player multiple requests to "install"

Why must I continue to "install" Adobe Flash Player every time I want to use a program that requires it EVEN THOUGH MY CONTROL PANEL SHOWS THAT I HAVE THE LATEST, MOST UP-TO-DATE VERSION ALREADY INSTALLED?

HOw many times must I "install" Adobe Flash Player before you will recognize that I have the most recent updated version already installed?  Please reply!

Plug-in for 11.7 version

I downloaded recent version of adobe flash player 11.7.700.224.  I can only hear audio but cannot view any video.  I running off of Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9.  I ensured I did in fact downloaded the recent version.  I disabled the Active X filtering.  I enabled flash player add-onns. I deleted all flash player browsing data.  However once in the advanced tab, in the bottom I found my ActiveX Version: 11.2.202.235 and Plug-In Version: Not Installed.  Finally I removed the flash player cache.  I couldnt disable the flash player harware acceleration because I could not view the video.  Are my problems stemming from the Plug-In version?  If so, which Plug-in do I install?  Finally, if not what is the problem?

Flash Problems with Google Chrome..

For the past several weeks, I am having problems with viewing my YouTube Videos.  The video is getting very choppy and the audio quality is terrible. I am a computer technician and I do a lot of IT work. I have been using Chrome as my primary internet browser and I have been using it for years. For the past several weeks, it was very stressful for me to figure out the problem. I have googled the information and all of the results are the same. Here what I have done:

  • I had uninstalled Flash Active X and the Plug in, restarted my computer, and re-install the program. Results: nothing. No improvements.
  • I had uninstalled Google Chrome. Resetted my machine. And re-installed Chrome with the defaults options. Results: nothing. No improvements.
  • I removed my video, and my network card from my computer. Resetted my machine, and re-install the appropiate drivers. Results: nothing. No improments.
  • I had followed Google's recommendation from their FAQ site but no luck there..
  • I had resetted my cable modem and the wireless router to see if I am missing something. Results: nothing. No Improvement.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit OS and I do not have any internet accelerators or anything to help out with my internet.

I have done several system checks and it passed with flying colors.

I am planning to write to Google about this and see what they say but I'm writing to you first.

I have the most recent Flash player on my system which is the 11.7.700.224.

Can you help me and find out what the probem? When I tried Inernet Explorer, it plays well but my heart is set to Google Chrome and I don't want to switch back.

I do need the help here.. I had done all of the things but no success. Can you help me find what I'm missing here?

Thanks!

enabling flash player for kindle fire

Flash player  is installed on all kindle fire tablets. To enable, go to any web page. At bottom of kindle fire, in panel where house Icon is located, tap the half-box with 3 lines in it: this opens settings which are different from those listed when you tap settings at the top of the kindle. Scroll down to  "Flash Player". By default, it is off. Tap it. Choose "Always on" rather than "on demand". You will now see the words "always on" under the Flash Player setting. That's all there is to it.
