Windows XP Service pack 3 with all updates
Adobe Flash player 11.6.602.171 installed
No other Adobe Flash versions installed
My Kaspersky Security SW is flagging Adobe Flash Player versions 9 and 10 as vulnerabilities, but these versions are not installed. But based on the paths below identified by Kaspersky, these are Adobe Flash instances that are buried in HP's Digital Imaging Software.
Adobe Flash 9.0 r115
C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Help\player\FlashPla.exe
Adobe Flash 10.0 r2
C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\{7E0E61CC-1C99-429D-BEA7-C4DD5B898D2A}\setup\hwsetupwizard\setup_guide.exe
This may be an OEM arrangement between HP and Adobe, but I need to know if these are indeed a security exposure. Kaspersky says they are. And I can't get past the gatekeepers at HP support, or anyone on the phone who even understand what I am talking about. I have already deleted and reloaded the HP Imaging SW to see if they had fixed the issue - and they have not.
So I am here to see if I can get the low down on whether this is an exposure or not on my machine. I suspect it might be if indeed these are full versions of flash, and HP just doesn't have any way to update them.
Help! Thanks in advance.
