I'm cross-posting this in MS and Google forums as well.
I am running into a really strange issue with the playback of many videos on youtube and I have been unable to resolve it so far. What happens is the video loads, looks like it restarts then goes to the generic An error has occurred message. I've reinstalled IE, Upgraded/Downgraded IE (tried all versions 8, 9 & 10), Reinstalled Flash player each time, tried 2 versions of Flash (11.2 & 11.8), wipre browser history(cookies, temp, etc), reset all settings in IE, logged on to multiple users profiles and even tried it on a newly configured PC that only had Windows 7 installed. Not happening on every computer and does not affect other browsers(Chrome & Firefox tested).
I've made a video and posted it on youtube(oh the irony) of what is happening and what looks like the cause. If you watch the quality icon you can see the quality cycle quickly through all available then the video stops. If I try to manually change the quality only 240p is available to select and it still does not play. In the other video I play it does not do this and I can switch between any of the available qualities. It does not make alot of sense to me. Anyone have any thoughts? using an alternative browser is unfortunately not an option right now.
