Some videos will not play

Some videos will play but not others. For example, youtube videos work fine but videos on http://www.thedailyshow.com/ do not work; I just get a black screen. Same on www.npr.org. They have a series called Tiny Desk Concert; I get a black screen with a start button but nothing happens when I click on it.

I have Windows 7 - 64 bit with IE version 10. Hardware is a Compaq Presario CQ5320Y with an AMD Athlon Processor/Dual Core.

I have the latest Flash Player.  I ran the check on the Adobe Flash Player website.
