Hello all,
The system in question has
Windows 7 64-bit
Firefox 32-bit
Flash plug-in 32-bit
HDMI going to LG TV
What I want is an all-else-fails way within the Flash plug-in "Global Settings" to manually select the output audio device. There is an option for input audio device.
Most programs auto detect the TV when it's connected via HDMI and transfer sound to it automatically. This support, while appreciated, would not be required.
I could go into the system settings and manually set the default playback audio there, but that's a pain in the rear, especially when other programs I use, such as VLC, can auto detect the output audio. If I set the default device to my TV, I have to set it back manually. Having a stored setting on individual programs to override the default only makes sense, especially when they already store settings for some multimedia devices, such as microphone and camera.
Another option would be to open your source and allow more developers to bang out a feature or two at a hackathon.
Please,
Don't whine like my 7 month old son and give a "Hardware Acceleration on Linux" answer.
I look forward to HTML5 deprecation of Flash and ActionScript. Until then, at least show some commitment to your end-users.
I could rant about open source and why you should go that way...
