Google maps street view problem

I can no longer get a street view under

google maps. The

message is to get a newer version of adobe flash

player 9 or newer I downloaded it it said download successfully completed and then when I tried to perform the same function to get a street view I received  the same message. I had rebooted my computer tried it again and was still unsuccessful. I need access besides having the sattelite image to the the street view.
